Summary for the academic year 2021-2022

  • At Universities of applied sciences, the field of Language & Culture had the highest relative share of international students (36%). In absolute numbers, Economics had the most international students enrolled with 15.5 thousand.
  • At Research universities, the Interdisciplinary programmes had the highest relative share of international students (46%). In absolute numbers, the field of Behavioural & Social Sciences had the most international students enrolled with 17.6 thousand.
  • The most popular study programme among international students is Psychology, followed by International Business, and Economics and Business.
