Nuffic’s Advisory Board consists of qualified experts who are involved in shaping Nuffic’s strategy.
About the Advisory Board
The members of the Advisory Board act as a sounding board, mirror and ambassador for Nuffic. They provide support based on their different backgrounds to ensure that ideas stay sharp and our activities link up even better with the needs of our stakeholders. The members of the board are not employed by Nuffic. They receive an attendance fee per meeting and a compensation for travel expenses.
Besides the members listed below, student organisations are also represented in the board, on a rotating basis: ISO , JOB MBO, LSvB en LAKS.
Ms Tanja Jadnanansing (chair)
Tanja Jadnanansing (1967) is chair of the Executive Board of the Amsterdam Zuidoost district council. A district with more than 170 nationalities and cultures. Her portfolio there includes education, security, youth and art and culture.
Mr Carlo Segers
Carlo Segers is a member of the Executive Board of Firda, a leading vocational education institution with approximately 22,000 students across six vocational colleges in Friesland and Northern Flevoland. Firda plays a crucial role in the region by training young talent and connecting them with the labor market. As a board member, Carlo has a diverse portfolio and focuses on key themes such as education & research, ICT, sustainability, and internationalization.
Ms Karen Peters
Karen Peters (1966) is member of the board of directors at De Haagse Scholen, a foundation for primary and special public education. Within this foundation, 51 schools offer education to approximately 15,000 pupils aged 4 to 18.
Ms Gaby Allard
Gaby Allard (MPhil) is member of the Executive Board of ROC of Amsterdam-Flevoland. Her portfolio includes the following: educational development, quality assurance, research and innovation.
Mr Rob Verhofstad
Rob Verhofstad (born in 1972) is chair of the Executive Board of Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen (HAN).
Mr Ewald van Vliet
Ewald van Vliet is chair of the Executive Board of Stichting Lucas Onderwijs, a school board for regular and special primary and secondary education that caters to approximately 36,000 students in the Haaglanden region. He started as a teacher in primary education before becoming director of several primary schools in The Hague.
Mr Vinod Subramaniam
Vinod Subramaniam (1967) is Chairman of the Executive Board of the University of Twente. Prior to this, he was Rector Magnificus of the VU University in Amsterdam for six years. Vinod himself was an international student in the US, receiving his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, before continuing his academic career at the University of Michigan, with a Master's degree in both Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics.
