ASEAN–EU Workshop on Quality Assurance in Higher Education
Strengthening Recognition, Mobility and Trust through Regional Frameworks
The EU-funded Sustainable Connectivity Package – Higher Education (SCOPE-HE) is preparing an ASEAN–EU workshop on quality assurance in higher education, planned for November 2026.
The workshop will bring together quality assurance and accreditation bodies and other higher education stakeholders from ASEAN and Europe to discuss how regional quality assurance frameworks can support recognition, academic mobility and mutual trust.
A central focus will be the findings and recommendations of the Comparability Study of the ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF) and the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). The study finds a high degree of comparability between the two frameworks and points to implementation, stakeholder ownership and practical use of the AQAF as key areas for further attention.
Through panel discussions, peer learning and group work, participants will exchange experiences and explore practical priorities for strengthening the implementation of the AQAF and future ASEAN–EU cooperation in quality assurance.
