NARIC Online Training Course (ongoing)
The project NARIC Online Course (2025 – 2027) enhances the quality and consistency of international qualification recognition across the ENIC-NARIC networks by providing structured training for new credential evaluators.
Introduction
International credential evaluation requires specialized knowledge and skills to ensure fair, transparent, and efficient recognition procedures based on the Lisbon Recognition Convention and its good practices. The NARIC Online Course provides professional training that combines established best practices with current EU priorities in recognition and mobility.
Building on its successful implementation since 2004, the NARIC Online Course proposes two new rounds of training for new credential evaluators at ENIC-NARIC offices. The course also serves experienced evaluators seeking to update their knowledge on emerging topics.
The project strengthens the capacity of ENIC-NARIC offices to implement key EU and EHEA commitments in recognition, particularly automatic mutual recognition and effective evaluation of diverse qualification types. Through shared expertise and practical application, participants gain foundational knowledge and exposure to current trends in international recognition.
Target audience: The course targets new credential evaluators at ENIC-NARIC offices. The specialized modules also serve experienced staff interested in specific topics such as automatic recognition, micro-credentials, and transnational education.
Call for participants: ENIC-NARIC centres can expect an announcement in autumn, with applications opening for staff members who would benefit from training in credential evaluation methodology.
Activities
The course uses a blended learning format with flexible participation options, combining self-paced online study with interactive elements and concluding with in-person training:
- Online training modules
The course consists of seven online modules covering essential aspects of credential evaluation. Five core modules provide foundational knowledge covering educational systems, evaluation tools, accreditation and recognition, criteria and procedures, and academic and professional recognition frameworks. Two specialized modules focus on micro-credentials and transnational education/joint degrees. Additionally, a webinar on automatic recognition procedures bridges the gap between theoretical understanding and practical implementation.
- Face-to-face training days
Each course round concludes with a face-to-face training day with case studies and peer-to-peer exchange. These sessions include practical exercises, group presentations, and networking opportunities that create lasting professional connections across the ENIC-NARIC networks.
