Grades and study results

In secondary education, schools usually assess study results in the following way:

The following documents can prove that students have completed a study programme in secondary education:

• the Bằng tốt nghiệp trung học phổ thông;
• the transcript that comes with it; and
• a sworn translation of both documents.

The diploma and the transcript have a standard layout. They are given by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education.

Please note: students usually receive a provisional diploma, a Giấy chứng nhận tốt nghiệp. They usually receive the official diploma within a year of graduation. The provisional diploma is no longer valid after that year.
