Certifikatë të Kualifikimit Profesional

  • Comparable to: a HAVO diploma for its general education component (NLQF 3-4/EQF 3-4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years (does not apply to 2 year programmes)
  • Type of education: general secondary education and vocational secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education, upon successful completion of maturity examination (Diplomë e Maturës Shtetërore Professionale).

Diplomë e Maturës Shtetërore

  • Comparable to: a VWO diploma (NLQF 4+/EQF 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: general secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education.

Diploma e Maturës Shteteröre Profesionale

  • Comparable to: a VWO diploma (NLQF 4+/EQF 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 4 years.
  • Type of education: general secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education.

Diplomë Bachelor

  • Comparable to: an HBO or a WO bachelor's degree (NLQF 6/EQF 6).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: professional or research-oriented.

Diplomë Master i Shkencave/Master i Arteve

  • Comparable to: an HBO or a WO master's degree (NLQF 7/EQF 7).

Diplomë Master Profesional

Diplomë e Nivelit të Parë (until 2007-2008)

  • Purpose of diploma: admission to further study of the 2nd cycle in higher education (Diplomë e Nivelit të Dytë/Master Profesional/Integruar i Ciclit të Dytë).

Diplomë e Nivelit të Dvtë (awarded to students who started in 2007-2008 the latest)

  • Comparable to: an HBO or a WO master's degree (NLQF 7/EQF 7).
  • Duration of schooling: 1 or 2 years.
  • Type of education: professional or research-oriented.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to doctorate programmes, if the master had a length of 2 years.
