Transitional justice – defined by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as “the full range of processes and mechanisms associated with a society’s attempt to come to terms with a legacy of large-scale past conflict, repression, violations and abuses, in order to ensure accountability, serve justice, and achieve reconciliation” - could help advance Syria’s transition from dictatorship, establishing a legitimate new order characterised by the rule of law. To contribute to transitional justice in Syria, Nuffic is currently assessing which possibilities there are for a Tailor-made-training (TMT) call within the MSP-framework.

This scholarship aligns with the Netherlands’ strategic focus on advancing semiconductor expertise, a field gaining increasing importance globally. Southeast Asia—particularly Vietnam—is becoming a growing hub in the semiconductor industry. Supporting Vietnamese students to attend the Eindhoven Semiconductor Summer School, strengthens individual capacity while fostering long-term academic and industrial collaboration in a priority sector for both regions.
