Mobstacles Network
What is Mobstacles?
The Mobstacles network in the Netherlands comprises staff from universities of applied sciences, research universities, university medical centres (UMCs) and research institutions who work in the field of incoming and outgoing student mobility, as well as researchers and academic staff. The network consists of three sections:
- Mobstacles HR
This network is aimed at people who assist, for example, visiting lecturers, academic staff and researchers. - Mobstacles Study
This network is aimed at people who assist international students and interns. - Mobstacles Outbound
This network is aimed at people who help school pupils and students to study or undertake an internship abroad.
Useful websites
International students coming to the Netherlands
Are you from outside the Netherlands and would you like to study here? You will find everything you need to know on our English-language website www.studyinnl.org. For example, you will find an overview of English-taught degree programmes, available scholarships, information on entry requirements, visas and insurance, as well as practical tips on living in the Netherlands.
Dutch students going abroad
Are you a Dutch student, or do you work with Dutch students, and would you like to spend your gap year, undertake an internship or study (part of) your degree abroad? If so, you will find plenty of information at www.wilweg.nl on topics such as entry requirements, available scholarships and country-specific information. You’ll also find inspiring stories and personal accounts from students who have previously studied or undertaken internships abroad.
International researchers and academic staff
Are you an international researcher or academic looking to come to the Netherlands? You can find more information on the English-language website www.euraxess.nl about, amongst other things, job vacancies, living in the Netherlands, visas and residence permits, health insurance, and childcare and schooling for children.
Employers with international staff
Are you looking to recruit international researchers or academic staff in the Netherlands? Then visit the website www.euraxess.nl for information on immigration procedures, work permits, social security and health insurance. You can also consult the visa wizard here, a handy tool that starts with a flowchart to help you determine which regulations apply in your case. You will then find further information on these regulations, including useful tips.
Further information on hiring an international (working) student or intern, including useful toolkits, can be found on the Nuffic website (in Dutch).
