Statement Nuffic on earthquake Türkiye and Syria

Like the whole world, we are shocked by the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria. We are shocked by the impact of the disaster and its many victims. Therefore, we express our sympathy for these victims, their families, friends and loved ones in Türkiye and Syria. We also sympathise with people in other parts of the world who know people in the affected area.

We feel close involvement through our long-standing cooperation in programmes and projects in this region. For example, we are currently a partner in the HOPES-LEB programme and EDU-Syria in which we assist Syrian refugee students studying in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey.
