Looking back on the Orange Knowledge Impact Event
Over 100 stakeholders, partners, scholarship holders, and Nuffic’s international staff, gathered at the Nuffic office in The Hague on 1 October for a final celebration of the Orange Knowledge Programme. During the event, we reflected on themes such as equal partnerships, gender and inclusion, and youth and employability. Inspirational examples embodying the essence of the Orange Knowledge Programme were highlighted by the participants, showcasing the change we made collectively.
Thank you to all our partners
As this was the final moment we would all come together before the programme ends, Mark Vlek de Coningh, team leader Partnerships and Programme Development, took a moment to reflect on the close partnerships that were formed over the years:
“From the start of the programme in 2017 until this very moment, we have joined forces with ministries, educational institutions and professionals across the globe to make the Orange Knowledge Programme what it is today. Together, we’ve pursued an ambitious goal: to contribute to sustainable and inclusive development through education, empowering individuals and strengthening institutions in 55 countries across the globe. We could not have done it without the unwavering efforts and collaboration of our partners and participants."
"It is clear that the Orange Knowledge Programme could not have succeeded without the dedication of you, our trusted partners, in all 55 OKP countries and here in the Netherlands. We are incredibly grateful for the commitment and cooperation of the last 7 years. Thank you.”
Results and impact
We are proud of 7 years of impact, partnerships and change makers. Therefore, we’ve created a pocket guide to outline the results and impact of the Orange Knowledge Programme (13.41 MB).
In addition, Nuffic carried out a tracer study to assess the mid- to long-term effects of the Orange Knowledge Scholarships on professional development and organisational strengthening in the partner countries. The results of this study in can be found in our tracer study report (10.59 MB).
Changes for Nuffic
The closure of the Orange Knowledge Programme at the end of this year, and a lack of perspective on further funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for our work, means that Nuffic is forced to restructure its work in international development from January 1, 2025 onwards. As a result, Nuffic phases out most activities outside Europe after the Orange Knowledge Programme ends.
