8th Dutch National CLIL Conference: 'For a Global Future'

The National CLIL Conference: 'For a Global Future' will take place on 10 November 2017 in the Beatrix Building in Utrecht. We expect to welcome up to 800 CLIL teachers, tto-coordinators and school managers from bilingual primary and secondary schools and mbo (secondary vocational education) from all over the country. We trust that it will be a great success, just like previous years!

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘For a Global Future’. You will leave with inspirational and practical ideas on how to get the best out of your (CLIL) teaching and internationalisation programmes on all levels. 

Keynotes

We are pleased to announce the opening keynote will be delivered by Dominic Peckham. He is widely regarded as a leading light in music education and his sessions for both adults and young people alike have been described as innovative, eye-opening and empowering. He has a way of developing musical skills while building teamwork, leadership skills and confidence at the same.                     

The closing keynote session will be provided by Alma Harris, Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy, at the Department of Education, University of Bath, England. She is internationally known for her work on educational leadership, education policy, organisational change and school and system improvement. Alma has written extensively about leadership in schools and is an expert on distributed leadership.

Workshop rounds

Experts will share their knowledge and experience in workshops and presentations about CLIL, EIO and other topics relevant to teachers and coordinators of bilingual schools. New this year:

  • Bilingual mbo
    In each round we offer a workshop especially targeted at teachers in bilingual mbo. However, you are, of course, free to choose any other workshop of your preference.
  • Bilingual primary education (pilot tpo)
    In round 1 and 3 we offer a workshop especially targeted at teachers in the pilot in bilingual primary education. However, you can choose any other workshop of your preference. In round 2 there will be a plenary session for those involved in the pilot bilingual primary education.

Exposition hall

In the exposition hall, more than 30 exhibitors will be ready to welcome you and offer you a look at their large variety of material on CLIL, internationalisation in education, and much more. Be sure to pay them a visit!
