Anton Biemans (1967) is Deputy Director-general of Nuffic.

Mr Biemans first joined Nuffic in 2007, when he was appointed Head of the Planning and Control Department. In this capacity, he was responsible for finances, IT, HRM, legal affairs and audits. Alongside this he also served as advisor to the Director-General and the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Nuffic, Mr Biemans worked as a consultant and coordinator in various government ministry posts. He began his career in 1992 at what was then the Ministry of Education and Science, where he rose through the ranks in successive policymaking positions. Mr Biemans subsequently moved to an appointment at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, where he served on the management teams of several departments and was also strategic advisor to the director-general.

Anton Biemans studied Business Economics at the University of Groningen, earning his initial university degree in 1990. He subsequently completed an advanced diploma course leading to a qualification as Registered Controller at VU University Amsterdam. He has also participated in various management development programmes, and completes the annual continuing education requirement to remain registered as a registered controller.
