TDECB
This way technical, international and domestic challenges related to renewable energy and the gas sector are easier to address. The TDECB supports the Dar es Salaam University, the Karume Institute of Science and Technology and the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology. The selected organisations will benefit from the support, know-how and expertise of Dutch service providers. The ITC (University Twente) leads the project in association with local, regional or international partners and experts.
By involving donor coordination and the private sector, the project reinforces cooperation between the Dutch and Tanzanian academic and private sector. There is special attention for enhancing equal opportunities for women and to the link between capacity development and labour market needs, promoting (self) employment of women and men. In 2017 the Tanzania Energy Platform has been established as a result of this initiative.
The project is initiated and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Environment, Water, Climate and Energy (IGG), and follows the procedures and formats of the NICHE programme.
