Intermediate Baccalaureate – وثيقة مدرسية / المرحلة المتوسطة (wathîqa madrasiyya/al-marhalla al-mutawassiṭa)

  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: general secondary education (lower).
  • Purpose of diploma: access to upper general secondary education.

Secondary School Certificate (Vocational Baccalaureate) – وثيقة مدرسية الإعدادية المهنية (wathîqa madrasiyya/al-i’dâdiyya al-mihaniyya)

  • Dutch comparison: MBO qualification level 2 or 3 diploma (NLQF 2/3/EQF 2/3).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: upper vocational secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: access to higher education.

Secondary School Certificate – وثيقة المرحلة الإعدادية / مدرسية (wathîqa adrasiyya/al-marhalla al-i‘dâdiyya)

Bachelor –البكالوريوس (al-bakâlûriyyûs) (Technical institute)

  • Duration of schooling: 4 years.
  • Type of education: Higher professional education.

Bachelor –البكالوريوس (al-bakâlûriyyûs) (4 jaar)

  • Dutch comparison: HBO bachelor’s degree or 2 years WO (NLQF 6/EQF 6).
  • Duration of schooling: 4 years.
  • Type of education: professional or research oriented.
  • Purpose of diploma: access to further study of the second cycle of higher education (Master and Higher Diploma). In order to be admitted to the Master, the diploma must be obtained with good grades.

Bachelor – البكالوريوس (al-bakâlûriyyûs) (5 years) in dentistry, pharmacology and veterinary medicine

  • Dutch comparison: WO bachelor’s degree (NLQF 6/EQF 6).
  • Duration of schooling: 5 years.
  • Type of education: research oriented.
  • Purpose of diploma: access to further study of the second cycle in higher education (Master and Higher Diploma). In order to be admitted to the Master, the diploma must be obtained with good grades.

Bachelor – البكالوريوس (al-bakâlûriyyûs) (6 years) in medicine

  • Dutch comparison: 4 years WO (NLQF 6/EQF 6).
  • Duration of schooling: 6 years.
  • Type of education: research oriented.
  • Purpose of diploma: access to further study of the second cycle in higher education (Master and Higher Diploma). In order to be admitted to the Master, the diploma must be obtained with good grades.

Master – الماجستير (al-mâjistȋr)

  • Dutch comparison: WO master’s degree (1 year) (NLQF 7/EQF 7).
  • Duration of schooling: 2 years.

Higher Diploma – دبلوم عالي (diblûm ‘âlȋ)
