Senior Secondary School Certificate (at least 6 subjects with a score of A to C)

  • Dutch comparison: HAVO diploma (NLQF* 4/EQF** 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: secondary general education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education.

West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (at least 6 subjects with a score of
A1 to C6)

  • Dutch comparison: HAVO diploma (NLQF 4/EQF 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: secondary general education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education.

Higher National Diploma (HND)

  • Dutch comparison: 2 years HBO (NLQF 5/EQF 5).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: higher professional education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to the third year of university bachelors, provided that the HND was obtained in a relevant specialisation.

Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
