VET Diploma

  • Dutch comparison: MBO qualifaction level 2-4 diploma (NLQF* 2-4/EQF** 2-4).
  • Duration of schooling: 2 to 5 years.
  • Type of education: vocational secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education, if the applicant’s results comply with the chosen university’s and/or study programme’s standard requirements.

Højere Handelseksamen (HHX)/Højere Teknisk Eksamen (HTX)

  • Dutch comparison: VWO diploma for the general education component (NLQF 4+/EQF 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: general secondary education.
  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher education.

Studentereksamenbevis (STX)/Bevis for Højere Forberedelseseksamen (HF)

  • Dutch comparison: VWO diploma (NLQF 4+/EQF 4).
  • Duration of schooling: 3 years.
  • Type of education: general secondary education.

Academy Profession degree (AK)

  • Purpose of diploma: admission to higher professional education (Professionsbachelor), sometimes with exemptions.

Professional Bachelor’s degree/professionsbachelor
