The closing chapter of Neso India & continuation of our work abroad
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Nuffic have agreed on a phase-out schedule for the network of the Netherlands Education Support Offices (Nesos). The phase-out is in line with the government's response to the Interdepartmental Policy Survey on the Internationalisation of (higher) education, and the decision of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to phase-out the subsidy and to end it as of 1 January 2024.
For NESO India, the phase-out was finalised by 30 September 2023 Therefore, we would like to refer you to the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Delhi, India for any questions related to education in India.
Despite Neso closures, Nuffic continues to promote international knowledge cooperation. Regional offices in South Africa, Jordan, and Indonesia foster cross-border partnerships between Dutch and foreign educational institutions. These offices support programmes like the Orange Knowledge Programme and MENA Scholarship Programme, facilitating education and research collaborations. Additionally, our project offices in Benin, Ethiopia and Lebanon assist local institutions in strengthening ties with the region and Dutch counterparts, ensuring ongoing collaboration. Initiatives like the NL Knowledge House in Indonesia underline our commitment to knowledge exchange. Our regional presence and commitment to fostering international knowledge cooperation remain steadfast. We continue to bridge the gap between Dutch and international education institutions, ensuring collaboration thrives in an ever-changing world.
