Huba Boshoff is the new head of Nuffic’s Netherlands Education Support Office in South Africa. She replaces Mervin Bakker who will be heading the International Strategy & Relations department at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.

Huba is an experienced international education professional and has been with Nuffic for two years as Development & Partnership Manager, focusing on the Southern Africa region. Previously she worked in various international roles at Stellenbosch University, including manager of international partnerships.

Connecting parties

"I am excited about taking on this role”, Huba explains. “Building on a strong platform of collaboration, I look forward to cocreate further opportunities for education and research between South Africa and the Netherlands and in so doing also contribute to knowledge exchange on the African continent.”

Upon his departure Mervin Bakker stated: "It is a strange time to say goodbye, because I am not able to meet the stakeholders and friends of Nuffic Neso South Africa in person to express my gratitude for the excellent collaboration over the past years. With Huba in charge, I am sure the very good collaboration will continue. With her experience, network and personality, she is the best successor I could wish for. For sure, also in my new role, I will remain an ambassador of the collaboration with South Africa.”
