Accreditation and quality assurance
Secondary education diplomas
In order to compare an Irish secondary school diploma to a Dutch diploma, we check whether the certificate has been awarded by the State Examinations Commission (SEC).
We can only compare Junior Certificates and Leaving Certificates awarded by the SEC.
Higher education diplomas
In order to compare an Irish higher education diploma to Dutch diplomas, we check if the higher education institution is recognised:
- Is the institution on the list of recognised higher education institutions on the Enic-Naric website? Then the accreditation is in order.
- Is the institution not on the list of recognised higher education institutions? Then you can look up that institution's programme in the QualifaX National Learners database.
This database lists all Irish higher education (and secondary vocational education) programmes approved by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Quality assurance
Since 2012, Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) has been responsible for the quality assurance of programmes in Irish secondary vocational and higher education.
