The maximum budget for this project is € 50,000.
Organizations
The project has been developed by the Escola Superior de Ciências Náuticas (ESCN). The Dutch partner in this project is STC Group BV.
Project description
ESCN's main activity is training merchant marine officers. It offers the following courses:

Maritime Navigation;

Marine Engineering Machinery;

Mechanical Engineering and Control Systems;

Electronics and Telecommunications;

Maritime Law
-
Economics and Management of Ports.
In addition, it offers short courses in specific areas, gives advice on policymaking related to the maritime sector and provides technical assistance to government entities and maritime companies.
The ESCN requests support to further strengthen its management capacities. This includes an institutional assessment and elaboration of a strategic multi-year guiding document to plan its sustainable institutional development in the medium and long term.
Currently, planning is done based on the guidelines of the central government regarding the operation of public institutions within higher education.
In general terms, the project aims to contribute to enhancing the maritime sector with better qualified graduates, while increasing the institutional capacity of the ESCN to offer quality education with a gender perspective and addressing the needs of the labour market in the maritime sector.
