In the transport sector NICHE will target training institutions of the Ministry of Transport in the field of maritime education and training.
Improvement of the quality of various forms of transport has a direct bearing on economic development. Understanding the various forms of transport, maritime, rail and air transport and their linkages is important for the economic development agenda. Training of personnel in these areas is important.
The Netherlands has been involved in supporting Indonesia in increasing its capacity to improve its maritime operations. Key Dutch institutions which are world leaders in the maritime field have assisted their Indonesian counterparts.
