FAQs about finances

 

Why is the scholarship amount different from the amount I put on my application form?

The number of scholarship months you applied for and the tuition fee may differ from the information you provided on your application form. We contacted your Dutch host institution and fixed the scholarship period and tuition fee. This is what you will receive from the Huygens scholarship.

If applicable, the tuition fee of your first year will automatically be used for the amount of tuition fee in your second year. The amount cannot be adjusted for administrative reasons. Please note that the scholarship is an allowance, not a reimbursement.
 

I did not get my payment. What should I do and when will I be paid?

Nuffic does not pay the scholarship directly to students. You will receive your scholarship in monthly instalments from your host institution from the start of the academic year. Your institution will first deduct your tuition fees and (where applicable) health insurance premiums, immigration service fees and accommodation costs.

If, for any reason, there are problems with your payment, please contact the International Office of your institution. Please get in touch with the contact person at your host institution for more information on further steps to be taken.

FAQs about Scholarships Online (SOL)

 

I am already registered, but I cannot log in. What should I do?

You can retrieve your login details through Scholarships Online under Register. Fill in your email address and the 'captcha' characters.

For those who also applied in 2008: please ensure that you use the same email address as the one you used on your application form (in Excel). Scholarships Online will recognize you by the combination of your email address and your date of birth.
 

FAQs about the Huygens certificate

 

I lost my Huygens certificate. Can you send me a copy?

Unfortunately we are unable to send you a copy. The certificate is issued only once.
