Tilburg University recruits students with biggest e-card ever
16 Mar 2010
Tilburg University has started a viral marketing campaign called Hello World, which aims to generate more interest among students for a unique international master’s programme. In this campaign, students are invited to join the biggest e-card ever and set a record.
The two-year master’s programme International Master in Service Engineering (IMSE) will start in September 2010. It is offered by TiSEM in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and the University of Crete (Greece).
The master is also part of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme of the European Commission. This is a prestigious scholarship programme, which offers scholarships to talented students worldwide. In previous years only non-EU students were awarded a scholarship. This year Erasmus Mundus also offers scholarships to EU-students.
Hello World
In order to reach the right target group for the IMSE programme, Tilburg University has set up the Hello World campaign. Via social media such as Facebook and Twitter an attempt is made to create the world’s biggest e-card, consisting of the Facebook profile pictures of the participants. If more people join, the e-card gets bigger. In addition, the more friends you recruit, the bigger your picture in the e-card will get. You can find the campaign on the special Hello World website.
