Study in Holland video contest: the winner!

On 15 April 2010 we celebrated the first anniversary of the Study in Holland film on the Study in Holland YouTube Channel by organizing a video contest. We asked international students and alumni to make a video of their ultimate Study in Holland experience offering a 13” MacBook Pro to the best submission!
Participants
It was quite a challenge to pick a winner from the 23 entries. The participants were all very enthusiastic and this was reflected in their videos. However, a few videos stood out in terms of creativity and the way they capture a personal experience.
The winner
After watching all videos, the jury decided that the winner of the Study in Holland video contest is… Claudia Jarufe Montagne from Peru with Discover Holland 2009!
The jury was impressed with the energy of the video. In a funny way she has managed to show her own unique experience of what it is like to study in Holland. The video is supported by a cheerful song which perfectly fits the images. The jury also believes that Claudia’s video contains a nice combination of study time vs free time. It is the combination of video and images that gives the video a strong style.
Claudia is alumna from Maastricht University, Faculty of Business and Economics. Claudia’s reaction to winning the contest: “I’m speechless!! I still can’t believe that I won the video contest! I’m sure all the videos were great. I want to thank all the friends I made during the exchange because they were my inspiration. Holland is awesome, it totally exceeded my expectations and I will always be thankful for all the amazing experiences I got to live in this period of my life.”
Honourable mention
The jury would also like to give an honourable mention to John Soria van Hoeve and Anke Overbeck from Bolivia and Germany for their video The Dutch studies - by bike for the well-executed concept and creativity.
