Master's in International Law of Human Rights and Criminal Justice, Utrecht University
Before I came to study in Holland I was excited and at the same time frightened to leave home. I was going to do a master’s programme at a great university in a whole new environment and culture. and I didn’t know what to expect. However, in my email exchanges with the international office I began to feel at home even before arriving. The office has been quite helpful right from the Visa application procedures to even housing arrangements.
Student life in Holland is a great experience. In student cities, life revolves around students and everything is done to make student life more enjoyable. Also, it is very easy to travel from one city to another because of the good network of trains.
Great facilities
Studying in Holland requires intensive work and research. The facilities such as libraries and classrooms are really great and contribute to the learning process. I did a master’s in International Law of Human Rights and Criminal Justice and it is absolutely great to study Law or even Human Rights in a country where you have all the international justice institutions such as the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice within your reach.
Aside from this I appreciated the interactive lectures. Within the study programmes there is quite a wide and flexible choice with regard to courses. I found it quite enjoyable to be able to take a course from another programme. I would advise new students to be open-minded and ready to work!!
