B in Electrical and Electronic Engineer, Fontys University of Applied Sciences

I came to Holland as a refugee, which means that the reasons for me to choose this country are probably not the same as for most international students.

Fontys provides students with modern equipment, which helps a lot to progress. This is a big contrast with my country, where the technological possibilities are not so good.

For me Holland means so much because I came here without any money or relations, so all I have now I built up here. I am so proud of it! Next to my study I have a part time job. Dutch people are more individualistic than Iraqis, but even so I have some good colleagues.

The student life at Fontys could be better if the student unions organized more activities, but life in Eindhoven is quite nice.

Holland is full of modern knowledge, and this is what makes it such an interesting country. Life here is also more organized, especially for students coming from the Middle East.
