Dutch language

15 Dec 2010

Although many Dutch people speak English very well, you may want to learn some Dutch as a part of your Study in Holland experience.

This can make it much easier to get in touch with other Dutch students and make some Dutch friends. And wouldn’t it be great to be able to read the newspaper or books by famous Dutch writers? And how about watching the local or national news?

Everyday life

Being able to understand and speak Dutch makes everyday activities, such as grocery shopping, going to a restaurant or following the news a little easier and more fun. Also, being able to talk and discuss with your Dutch classmates and neighbours in their language will increase your social interaction and speed up your integration into Dutch society.

And who knows, maybe you will fall in love with this country so much that you will stay for a longer period of time and start your career here. Even if you start your career in an international company elsewhere, having foreign language skills is always a benefit.

In short: learning to speak Dutch can only be advantageous.
