When you have made the decision to go study in Holland, you will need to prepare your stay. This section will guide you through all the steps you need to take before leaving home. As an international student you need to arrange quite a lot of things for an untroubled stay in Holland.
You will probably need a visa and/or a residence permit. In addition, you must make sure you have adequate health insurance, arrange for accommodation and have proper funding for your stay.
By using the checklist, you can easily see which preparations you need to make and when. As soon as you can tick all the boxes on the list, you are well prepared to leave home.
Language
Even though you will be able to get by in English, you might want to start learning Dutch in your own country. Knowing some basic Dutch does help make daily life easier. It will enable you to get into contact with the local people more quickly and understand the culture better.
