Get connected

16 Jan 2012

Dutch people really want to be connected to other cultures, the world and the business community. This means that as a student you will take part in international classes. Holland in fact has over 81,700 international students.

During the Golden Age the Dutch needed knowledge from other countries to flourish. That still holds true today. International talent is more than welcome. You will come across many international students in Dutch university lecture halls and on campuses.

Diverse nationalities

“I’m following lectures with students from Germany, Spain, the USA, from all corners of the globe in fact,” says Indonesian student Ema Apriyani. “We work together a lot. With such diverse nationalities in my class, I learn a great deal from the different views held by different cultures.”

Europe on the doorstep

By the same token Dutch people want to learn a lot from other cultures too. And that’s really useful with foreign countries on the doorstep. This is practical not only for exporting Dutch cheese, flowers and other products but you too will benefit. You can be in another European country in no time.

A less than three-hour train journey takes you to Paris from Amsterdam, in about five hours by train from Rotterdam you can be in London and in just over six hours you’re in Berlin.
