Your Dutch diploma
22 Oct 2009
Once you have finished your studies in the Netherlands and have received a Dutch diploma, Nuffic can provide more information on how to obtain a description of your Dutch diploma.
Diploma Description
Nuffic assists students by providing advice or written statements, such as the ‘Diploma Description’. A Diploma Description describes a Dutch diploma and compares it to a diploma in the country where it will be used. This description can be written in English or Spanish.
Note that a Diploma Description is not a translation of the diploma, but states the name of the diploma holder and the most important information about the study programme and diploma. In addition, the Dutch education system is explained and an indication is given to which national diploma in the host country it can be compared.
Procedure
A Diploma Description is issued to the person named on the diploma and costs €75. It takes about four weeks to finish a Diploma Description after it has been applied for. Use our online form to request an information package. The information package explains how you can apply for a Diploma Description and includes an example of a Diploma Description.
NCP Declaration
If you wish to practice a regulated profession in another EU country, Nuffic can provide you with an ‘NCP Declaration’, a short statement on the professional rights granted by the diploma. This statement can help you in the process of registering for the profession in question in the host country. NCP Declarations are provided free of charge.
In order to request an NCP declaration, contact the NCP.
Note that both statements (Diploma Description and NCP Declaration) are recommendations only and, as such, no rights can be derived from these documents in the host country.
