National Contact Point
Each EU member state has a National Contact Point for Professional Recognition (NCP). The NCP provides information to people who wish to practise their respective professions in another country. The matter concerns professions to which Directive 2005/36/EC applies. The NCP refers people who wish to be eligible for recognition to the right competent authority and provides information about the procedure.
In the Netherlands, the NCP is based at Nuffic. Nuffic cooperates in this regard with SBB, the Foundation for Cooperation on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market.
Competent authorities
The competent authority is the body that decides whether you may practise the desired regulated profession in the country concerned. Contact details of the competent authorities in the Netherlands are provided elsewhere on this website.
SOLVIT
There is a SOLVIT centre in all member states of the EU, as well as in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Private individuals and companies may contact a SOLVIT centre if they have complaints about the application of European regulations, such as Directive 2005/36/EC, for example.
A SOLVIT centre is part of the national government and tries to solve concrete problems within ten weeks. The SOLVIT procedure is free.
