Regulated professions may only be practiced by someone who has earned an appropriate national qualification. Access to the profession is regulated by law.
There is a competent authority for every regulated profession. It is their job to decide who can practice that profession. Examples of regulated professions in the Netherlands are: nurse, teacher and driving instructor. Which professions are regulated varies from country to country.
