Through years of experience, Nuffic has gained a vast amount of knowledge about higher education systems around the world, good practice in credential evaluation and recognition issues in general. This expertise is applied in a variety of ways, including providing consultancy services to clients in the Netherlands and abroad.
Here are some examples of recent consultancy services and projects.
Assisting countries with the implementation of European Directives for professional recognition
Nuffic has provided advisory services to several pre-accession countries such as Latvia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Croatia, to help the competent authorities take the necessary steps to implement the European Directives. These two-year projects were carried out in cooperation with SBB (the Foundation for Cooperation on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market) and helped improve the mobility of individuals seeking employment.
Consultancy projects in the Russian Federation in the area of academic and professional recognition
Up until 2007 Nuffic participated in a two-year Tempus project in the Russian Federation, which primarily consisted of providing training courses for admissions officers at higher education institutions throughout the country, teaching them the skills and competencies associated with good practice in international credential evaluation.
This project was very successful and Nuffic has subsequently been asked to participate in a three-year Tempus project, the aim of which is to assist the Russian authorities with establishing a system for professional recognition that is in line with the European system. This project runs until December 2011.
Advice on setting up an ENIC/NARIC office
As a leading ENIC/NARIC (information network on recognition) in Europe, the International Recognition Department has provided assistance to colleagues in the field who are in the process of establishing an ENIC/NARIC office in their country, in some cases as part of their accession to the European Union.
In-company training courses and projects
Nuffic provides training courses and consultancy not only for higher education institutions, but also for businesses and organizations that recruit staff from foreign countries.
