Project description

This project aims to build the capacity of the leadership of thirteen public universities. This will contribute to a Higher Education sector that produces responsible and competent citizens who constitute a labour force for socio-economic development.

Leadership capacity will be built through training focused on providing knowledge, skills and attitudes to competently lead, manage and effectively implement reform and transformation processes in the participating universities.

The trainings will be attended by, among others, Board members, Presidents and Vice Presidents, Deans, Faculty Heads and Heads of Finance, Procurement and Human Resource Departments.

Gender equality and HIV Aids are two cross-cutting themes that will be mainstreamed in the project design.

In addition to capacitating current staff, a training package is to be compiled and trainers will be trained so that they can use the package after project completion.
