Objectives
The regulatory, managerial, and technical capacity in terms of handling water resources at the local level is enhanced with a focus on gender aspects.
Present status
The water sector faces insufficient applied knowledge about integrated resource management and shortages in technical skills in water-related service delivery.
Medium term outcome(s) – 4 years
The number of (female) water managers and technical personnel has increased at local level (e.g. municipalities and Water Authorities).
Longer term Outcome(s) – 8 years
Water service delivery by municipalities has improved, resulting in enhanced surface water quality and less water borne diseases.
