Objectives
The Higher Education system will be supported by institutional strengthening of Higher Education institutes, both HDIs (Historically Disadvantaged Institutions) and top-end HE institutes, with a focus on gender and market relations.
Present status
- high drop-out rates;
- low output rates;
- substandard academic programmes;
- HRD academic and management staff challenges;
- lack of international partnership.
Medium term outcome(s) - 4 years
- strenghtened primary processes, by improved, gender-sensitive, curricula;
- better quality teaching;
- application of ICT in teaching and learning;
- more alignment with the needs of the related markets.
Longer term outcome(s) - 8 years
- improved skill level of HE graduates;
- better access to the labour market, especially for women;
- more international partnerships.
