Objectives
Business Management Information Systems and the quality of teaching staff and educational programmes are improved, with stronger links to the labour market and with a stronger gender focus of FET colleges.
Present status
- IT-based information systems are inappropriate.
- Curricula are still not sufficiently market oriented.
- Apprenticeship places are limited.
Medium term outcome(s) – 4 years
- The respective authorities are able to generate viable business information from the colleges, via improved IT-based integrated systems.
- College programmes will be more market oriented with improved throughput rates.
Longer term outcome(s) - 8 years
- The respective authorities are capable of monitoring operations (admin, finance, student output) for policy development purposes.
- Increased output rate with higher skill level better attuned to the needs of the industrial/business sector, especially for women.
