Below is an overview of the present status and the outcomes with regard to Natural Resource Management.
Benchmark of the present status
- At TVET level, the existing qualitative and quantitative training capacity in forestry management and land use planning is inadequate or lacking.
- At HE level, the existing qualitative and quantitative education and research capacity on international environment/water law and conflict resolution is absent.
- At HE level, the existing qualitative and quantitative education and research capacity is limited in the field of Integrated Water Resource Management.
Medium term outcome(s) - 4 years
- The lead TVET institution on natural resource management has concluded a successful transformation within the existing TVET policy framework.
- The selected HE institutions can teach and do research in a multidisciplinary manner.
- The selected institutions have improved their qualitative and quantitative staff in the selected fields.
- The selected institutions collaborate effectively with other education, research, policy and private sector stakeholders and relevant civic organisations.
- The selected institutions apply mechanisms to adjust curricula and courses to new research findings.
Longer term outcome(s) - 8 years
- The lead TVET institutions on natural resource management and land use planning has improved its professional standing and has become more attractive to new students, employers and/or (research) clients.
- HE institutions in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management have improved their professional standing and have become more attractive to new students, employers and/or research clients.
