The NFP refresher courses provides funds for refresher courses for NFP alumni and is one of the sub-programmes of the NFP.

Continued learning

The NFP provides funds for refresher courses for NFP alumni. The aim of refresher courses is to increase the impact and prolong the effect of earlier NFP-funded training. The maximum budget available for one refresher course is €70,000. This amount is intended to cover the course costs, including insurance, travel costs of teaching staff and participants, salaries of teaching staff, and to contribute to the living costs of both the trainers and participants, as specified in a course budget and in the NFP booklet ‘Rules and regulations for fellowship holders’.

Duration and participation

The duration of a refresher course is normally two weeks. There may be up to twenty participants and it should take place in an NFP country. Participants from that country or from a neighbouring NFP country may attend. The refresher course may be conducted by either the Dutch organization that provided the original training course or by a different Dutch provider qualified in the field of expertise concerned. Applications for refresher courses can be submitted to Nuffic either by organizations in developing countries, by NFP alumni or by the Dutch organization that will provide the course.

Location

A refresher course should be conducted in the country or region of the organization or individuals who will benefit from the course. This should be one of the 61 countries on the NFP country list, valid at the time of application.
