Official closing of branding project

21 May 2010

On 7 April 2010, Nuffic's Director of Communication Hanneke Teekens submitted the final report for the ‘Branding Dutch higher education’ project to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

From 2008 to 2009, Nuffic worked on the international roll-out of the Study in Holland brand, with an emphasis on the Neso target countries. Thanks to the project, all Dutch higher education institutions are now familiar with the Study in Holland logo and 75% have registered to use the logo in their own promotional material.

A brand awareness survey has revealed that the Netherlands is viewed as an attractive study destination. At the same time, Study in Holland brand recognition is still only 4%, with peaks in the Neso countries Indonesia (13%) and Vietnam (10%). In comparison: the British Council Education UK brand scores 30%, while the German DAAD brand scores 10%. The survey will be repeated in 2011 to measure progress.

Promotional material Study in Holland

Although this project phase has now ended, raising the profile of Study in Holland remains a continuous process. In addition to Nuffic, the higher education institutions themselves also play a major role. Nuffic will use the coming period to promote the logo in collaboration with the higher education institutions, as well as making the logo more user-friendly.
