New Holland Alumni Network project

The Nuffic ‘Holland Alumni network – focus on Neso countries’ project, organized on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, is now up and running.
The main goal of the project is to strengthen existing Holland Alumni networks in the ten Neso countries. The project ultimately seeks to draw on these stronger networks to both enhance the position of Dutch higher education in the Neso countries and support international alumni policy at higher education institutions in the Netherlands.
Project activities
Nuffic carries out the following activities for this project:
- conducting training sessions to develop the knowledge and skills of alumni officers (at Nuffic Neso offices and institutions);
- providing detailed information to Holland Alumni about career opportunities, professional networks, finding a job after graduation and further study in the Netherlands;
- carrying out research into alumni needs during different life phases and tracer studies among alumni in Neso countries;
- deploying Holland Alumni for the promotion of Study in Holland via ambassador programmes and informational meetings for prospective students.
International alumni
In 2009 Nuffic rounded off the first Holland Alumni network project. Since then, interest in the Holland Alumni network has continued to grow amongst a range of parties, as has their appreciation of alumni’s role in strengthening the position and quality of Dutch higher education.
Nuffic is seeing a steady increase in requests for training, research and data to support the expansion of international alumni networks in Neso countries in particular. Interest in approaching international alumni directly is also on the rise. The project is meeting these demands by strengthening the alumni networks launched by the first project, with a key focus on building the networks’ capacity to operate independently.
