Dutch online science jobs database spreads its wings in 38 countries

AcademicTransfer, the jobs database for science jobs, has acquired the American job site career.edu. This take-over means that AcademicTransfer will be active in the field of scientific recruitment in 38 countries.
AcademicTransfer
AcademicTransfer has been operating as a jobs database for the niche sector of scientific staff for twelve years. The service is primarily meant for Dutch universities, university medical centres and research institutes and in the past few years also for the corporate market. AcademicTransfer has specialized in reaching scientists from the level of PhD student and above. Dutch recruiters want their vacancies to be more visible abroad. Visitors of the AcademicTransfer site would also like to have visibility of relevant job vacancies outside of the Netherlands. The take-over of career.edu fulfils both needs.
Career.edu
Career.edu is an American jobs database that serves the same target audience as AcademicTransfer. PhD students, post-graduates, researchers, (university) teachers and professors. In addition to the United States, career.edu is active in the field of scientific recruitment in another 38 countries. The take-over means the number of jobs advertised will rise to more than 12,000 scientific vacancies a year, which will be accessible for more than 2 million visiting candidates.
Ambition
AcademicTransfer will first of all link the three separate platforms, academictransfer.nl, academictransfer.org and career.edu, enabling the exchange of and access to vacancy and CV information. In addition, AcademicTransfer has an ambition to become the international notice board for foreign knowledge workers in the field of science, in cooperation with 'Euraxess Nederland' - the European initiative for researchers - and the Dutch Innovation Platform. The goal is to provide insight into the world-wide supply and demand of scientific personnel and to maximize opportunities for Dutch knowledge institutions to attract the interest of foreign scientists for a job in the Netherlands.
Euraxess Nederland
The European initiative for researchers, Euraxess Nederland, was set up by Nuffic, AcademicTransfer and SenterNovem. By providing all kinds of information, Euraxess Nederland makes it easier for foreign researchers to come to the Netherlands.
Euraxess division of tasks
AcademicTransfer focuses on the website and on offering job vacancies, SenterNovem provides the link to the business community and Nuffic, as project coordinator, is responsible for providing information about the administrative procedures and other practicalities around a move to the Netherlands.
