Shared practice: mainstreaming gender and labour market issues in capacity development

28 Nov 2011

From 12 to 14 December Nuffic will be organising a regional seminar in Rwanda with a focus on gender and labour market needs in capacity development. The seminar is organised in collaboration with external gender and labour market experts from Alice O and Van Hall Larenstein.

The seminar will focus on gender and the labour market in relation to capacity development. We have invited a number of African TVET and higher education institutions that are currently implementing a NICHE project.

They include NICHE project partners who have good practices to share with others and partners who find it difficult to deal with these cross-cutting themes in their projects.

Mutual learning

The seminar will facilitate mutual learning and offer a platform for discussion and reflection by exchanging experiences and best practices.

Hands-on sessions

Through hands-on workshops and plenary sessions, both cross-cutting themes will be fully explored and made concrete. This will facilitate the mainstreaming of gender and labour market needs in capacity development of the institutions that will attend the seminar and enhance the sustainability and impact of the NICHE programme as a whole.
