Scholarships Online launched for NFP
10 Feb 2011
Scholarships Online (SOL) is an online application tool, developed by Nuffic, which enables candidates to apply for scholarship programmes administered by Nuffic. As in the previous editions of this newsletter we keep you up to date about our preparations to adjust SOL to the specific requirements of the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP).
A successful go-live
We are very pleased that on 1 November 2010 SOL was successfully launched for the NFP. So far, around 400 applicants have used SOL to apply online for an NFP fellowship. These candidates have already experienced some of SOL's many advantages:
- they did not have to travel to the embassy to submit their application, but simply submitted it online in their own time and convenience;
- they received an instant confirmation of receipt by email;
- they can track the status of their application online by logging on to SOL.
Taming paper piles
Besides these advantages for candidates, the Dutch institutions and embassies that are involved in the administration of NFP fellowships will also benefit. For example, SOL has put an end to the large numbers of paper applications which had to be sent from the embassies to Nuffic and from Nuffic to the Dutch institutions.
Thanks to SOL, all parties involved share the same administration tool and are able to follow the status of the fellowship applications at any time.
Information about SOL
Nuffic's web pages dedicated to NFP contain all the information about the new application and selection procedures. Here, applicants can also find general information about, for example, the aim of the NFP, the eligibility criteria for the various sub-programmes, and information about how to apply for a fellowship.
The website is designed in such a way that potential applicants must first read the application criteria before they can access SOL to apply for a fellowship online.
