ACUP
The Interuniversity Consortium of University Management (CIGU) presents the virtual platform Technipedia
Technipedia is a virtual platform that aims to strengthen the economy of African countries by improving knowledge transfer between universities and businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and entrepreneurship among young Africans. The Interuniversity Consortium of University Management (CIGU) that has driven Technipedia was created under the University Cooperation Program with Africa.
Algeria
Algeria is to open a campus of the Pan-African University (PAU) in September specializing in renewable energy sciences and climate change research. The campus will accommodate about 450 doctoral students from across Africa.
AusAID
Six new ‘transparent’ country pages
The Transparency Charter commits AusAID to actively participate in the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), which aims to make information about aid spending easier to access, use and understand. Recently six updated country web pages were released. The country pages provide detailed information on AusAID’s work—policies, plans, processes, the results of Australian aid activities and evaluations—to explain where Australia’s money is spent and its impact on reducing poverty.

Pilot project Europe-Africa Quality Connect
Representatives of the five universities that underwent quality evaluations in Africa, 25 European and African higher education experts, and the project partners gathered at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, from 19 to 20 April to discuss the outcomes of five institutional evaluations conducted in Africa in the context of the pilot project Europe-Africa Quality Connect.
IAU
New Reference Group on Higher Education for EFA
IAU welcomes 13 new members to the Group (5 from Africa; 3 from Asia and the Americas respectively, and 2 from Europe). The 2012-2015 Group will be actively engaged in the building of capacities, commitment and community for increased higher education participation in EFA.

New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States
At the Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, a number of countries and international organisations endorsed an agreement on a new global direction for engagement with fragile statesThe New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States sets out five goals — legitimate politics, justice, security, economic foundations and revenues and services — to give clarity on the priorities in fragile states.

Program-for-Results (PforR)
The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors approved the Program-for-Results (PforR) financing instrument on January 24, 2012. PforR is an innovative financing instrument for the World Bank's client countries that links the disbursement of funds directly to the delivery of defined results.
