Conference organization

The conference is jointly organized by three partners: NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development, Nuffic and ISS. Staff members of all three partners are represented on a Steering Board, together with representatives of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nuffic is the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education. Nuffic is a service provider and acts as intermediary between Dutch higher education and the higher education sector in other countries (www.nuffic.nl).
WOTRO Science for Development is the science division within the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) which supports scientific research on development issues, in particular poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Its scope includes all low and middle-income countries (www.wotro.org).
ISS is the Institute of Social Studies and an international graduate school of policy-oriented critical social science. The institute brings together students and teachers from the Global South and the North in a European environment. It does research, teaching and public service in the field of development studies and international cooperation (www.iss.nl).
