The government of New South Wales – one of Australia’s most popular student destinations – hopes to establish a body to promote international education in the state following recommendations in a key report on economic growth. But at least one education body has complained that there will be little new funding for it. 

Singapore’s top public universities have teamed up with private education providers, in a new alliance that will help them secure education and training opportunities overseas, starting with training civil servants in China. Called the Singapore Talent Development Alliance, it was launched by the external trade promotion agency International Enterprise Singapore and the universities on 30 January, with China its first port of call.
