Nuffic examines interest in development cooperation programmes
Participation of Dutch higher education institutions in international development cooperation programmes such as NICHE and NFP is essential. Nuffic has launched a study to discover how we can foster this participation.

External guidance helps institutions to learn how to prepare, execute and analyse benchmarking and look at different internationalisation approaches. Nuffic Neso Thailand's swift start in 2012
Bangkok has suffered severe floods during the fourth quarter of 2011. Most international events were postponed, including the major education fair of the year, the OCSC International Higher Education Expo. From early 2012 the situation has returned to normal, but there are fears that the floods will continue to affect Thailand.
Nuffic launches Tailor-Made Training programme
Nuffic is launching a new capacity building programme under the NFP programme: Tailor-Made Training (TMT). The NFP Tailor-Made Training programme is geared towards enhancing the overall performance of organisations in 61 countries by training a selected group of its staff members. A Tailor-Made Training is designed to meet specific needs identified by the requesting organisation.
NICHE partners in South Africa join forces
South Africa was one of the first countries in which NICHE projects were launched. Most of the eleven projects in the country are now well underway and ready to report on their results. Nuffic held a national reporting workshop in South Africa for project coordinators and financial managers, to facilitate the reporting process.
Campaign medal honours NPT projects in Vietnam
The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has awarded Nuffic senior programme administrator Tjay Koen Yap the prestigious 'Campaign Medal for People’s Health’. He received the award for his ‘outstanding contribution to the development of the health sector in Vietnam’ under the NPT programme.
Outcome latest NFP application round available
Nuffic received an enormous amount of high quality applications for the 1 October deadline of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP). The selection results are now available.
IFP in final phase

Study in Holland: distinctive in attracting international students
In the last few years, the international higher education environment has changed rapidly. Nuffic has put a lot of effort into increasing the brand awareness of Dutch higher education amongst international students. From 2012 these promotional activities will be centred around three new unique selling points (USPs): Pioneering, Creative, Connected.
Fairs: personal contact in an online world
These days, many institutions are increasing their focus on online promotion and reducing their number of visits to the regions. In many Neso countries however, personal contact at education fairs is important for making a decision on studying abroad.
Promoting studying abroad on social media
Last December Nuffic launched a Facebook page dedicated to going abroad for study or an internship. The aim of the page is to raise awareness of the possibilities among current and prospective Dutch students.
New search engine for study programmes
In www.studyfinder.nl, Nuffic presents a complete, reliable and up–to-date overview of all study programmes taught in English at Dutch higher education institutions. This new search engine was developed as part of the Red Carpet Programme. This programme intends to smoothen the process international students go through when they want to study in Holland.
Nuffic and PIE produce sustainability toolkit
Nuffic and PIE, the Platform for International Education, joined forces to organise a hands-on seminar on sustainability in capacity building projects for Dutch project implementers. The seminar produced a collection of best practices and a useful toolkit.
New calls for proposals Nuffic and CAPES
Nuffic and the Brazilian intermediary organisation CAPES published two calls for proposals. One call is for joint research projects and the exchange of PhD students. The other call for proposals is for projects that stimulate Dutch-Brazilian cooperation at undergraduate level. On the Brazilian side the projects will be funded by CAPES.
Ethiopian delegation on study tour in Holland
A delegation of presidents, vice-presidents and project coordinators of eight Ethiopian universities visited the Netherlands on a study tour in November 2011. The visit was part of a NICHE project supporting the development of commercial agriculture programmes at Ethiopian universities.
