As more and more recruiting countries are servicing the education markets, it is becoming increasingly important to know what the competition is doing. What are the competitors, at the national and institutional level, offering and how they are doing this? Nuffic Neso Mexico prepared a competitor analysis report to provide insight into their market.

The report gives in-depth information into the competitors on the Mexican education market and what the Dutch higher education sector can learn from them. Dutch institutions that are already active or want to become active on the Mexican education market can use these insights to their advantage.

Six competitor countries

The report found that six other countries have official representative offices for higher education in Mexico: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. The analysis shows that these countries differ in terms of how they are active on the education market. Some are, for example, more focused on establishing institutional cooperation, while others focus more on student recruitment.

Moreover, the report also provides information on the national policies and the products (e.g. language courses) the countries promote.

The report also looks at activities of foreign higher education institutions. It shows that there is a substantial difference in market approach at this institutional level as well. Based on the different market approaches, best practices –from which Dutch higher education institutions can learn - are identified.
