Programme for Russia seminar: sharing best practices
The final programme of the special Russia seminar on higher education and institutional cooperation in March is now available. At the seminar Dutch and Russian higher education institutions will share best practices.
The seminar, presented by former correspondent in Russia for the Dutch NOS News, Kysia Hekster, will be held in the Hermitage Amsterdam on Tuesday 19 March 2013. Its central theme is: ‘How to cooperate successfully in Russia’. The programme is now available.
Registration for the seminar is still open. You can register online.
Joint projects and research cooperation
During the Best Practices workshop, Duke Meijman – a specialist in Russian language and culture – will tell how she started and coordinated institutional cooperation with five universities in Russia for The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Annually around a dozen Dutch and Russian students participate in the exchange programmes.
Arjan van Vliet, a strategist at the Dutch vehicle and driving license registration authority RDW, will share his Russia experience and explain how he won a tender from the Russian Ministry of Education. He will give a presentation on the vehicle project that the RDW is currently doing with the University of Twente and the university in Nizhny Novgorod. The joint project is financed by the Russian Ministry of Education.
The workshop of the Dutch association of research universities VSNU introduces examples of scientific research in cooperation with the Russian Federation: how did these researchers find the right counterparts, how did they get the necessary funding, and where are current research possibilities in Russia?
Alumni experiences
In addition, experiences will be exchanged during the other workshops. Russian students and alumni in the Netherlands talk about their decision to study in Holland and what Dutch institutions can learn from their experiences. During the Living Lab Energy Russia workshop the first experiences will be shared and future plans will be presented.
Before the workshops start Professor Irina Dezhina will give an introduction on Russia’s latest developments in higher education and science. The Russian specialist will give her audience something to think about in her presentation called 'The future of Russian universities: grow or else...?’
Please note that there is space for a maximum of 100 participants. Participation is free of charge. You can sign up for the individual workshops at the start of the seminar (09:00 hrs).
